The Assessment

Our team carried out a full inspection, which included:

- Checking ventilation within the chamber
- Pumping out and removing backed-up sewage
- Identifying that the existing pump had completely failed
- Discovering significant structural damage to the tank
- Conducting CCTV surveys of pipes and connections
- Evaluating challenges caused by restricted access

1. The Solution

Efficient Retrofit Strategy To resolve the structural damage without the high cost and disruption of removing the old tank, we implemented a retrofit strategy using a Jung Pumpen Compli 1010/4 BW. This allowed us to decommission the damaged tank in situ, thereby bypassing the need for deep excavation.

2. Key Steps Included

We began by raising the chamber floor to repair existing structural damage, then installed the new Jung Pumpen system. The project involved external excavation to create new pipe connections and hand-digging trenches for the electrical supply. Once connected, we carefully reinstated the paving and surrounding area, leaving the site neat and fully operational.

3. The Result

Following full testing and commissioning, the system is now fully operational. This approach significantly reduced project time and cost while leaving the garden and surrounding property virtually untouched.
