The Solution

Based on our assessment, we determined that removing the interceptor and installing a
correctly graded, direct drainage run would provide a more reliable, maintainable, and
compliant long-term solution.

Key Steps

1. Breaking out and removing the existing interceptor.

2. Cutting the existing pipework and installing a Fernco band seal.

3. Adjusting pipe falls and modifying pipework to achieve correct drainage gradients.

4. Reinstating the area and clearing the site upon completion.

5. Completing all work within a strict 3-hour window to align with the restaurant's opening times.

The Result

The newly configured drainage system was fully tested and commissioned to confirm
reliable operation and optimal performance.

Removing the interceptor eliminated the recurring blockages and unpleasant odours.  The system now drains efficiently, with no standing sewage water remaining in the
chamber, providing a cleaner, more dependable solution for the restaurant.
