The manhole in the back garden was getting overwhelmed every time it rained, flooding the paved area at the rear. No sewerage backed up into the house at any point, but the homeowners did not want to take the chance and wanted mitigation put in place.

The existing basement flip pump had failed due to age and constant overuse. The system was undersized for the number of occupants using the facilities, which led to frequent overloading. This caused stagnant water to remain in the chamber, resulting in corrosion, leaking pipework, and persistent unpleasant odours within the basement flat.

The existing Jung Compli 400 sewage lifting station had been in service for approximately 15 years and was experiencing minor ongoing issues. Access to the tank was extremely restricted due to poorly routed pipework, making maintenance and repairs difficult.

The property was experiencing recurring drainage blockages caused by poor pipe layout. Multiple unnecessary bends, combined with 6-inch-to-4-inch pipe reducers, were creating snagging points that restricted flow and made effective drain clearing difficult.
